NUEVA YORK.-<\/strong> Miles de dominicanos, entre otras etnias, en esta ciudad que conducen a diario veh\u00edculos privados, de taxis livery, Uber, Lyft, autobuses y pesados en Manhattan, est\u00e1n siendo afectados desde este lunes hasta el pr\u00f3ximo viernes debido al cierre de decenas de calles y avenidas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los cierres de las v\u00edas para facilitar las movilizaciones de cientos de delegaciones y comitivas, de presidentes, primeros ministros, jefes de estados y cancilleres, de 193 pa\u00edses, que asisten a la 80va Asamblea General de la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas (UNGA), ubicada en el 405 East de la calle 42 con la Primera avenida en Manhattan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Algunas calles tendr\u00e1n limitaciones para peatones, ciclistas y buses p\u00fablicos. En general, los cierres en una zona terminan afectado el tr\u00e1fico en toda la urbe, por lo que se recomienda m\u00e1s que nunca usar el Metro, trenes y ferrys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAcu\u00f1ado en la ciudad de Nueva York, el t\u00e9rmino \u00abgridlock\u00bb se refiere a la congesti\u00f3n vehicular que bloquea la red de intersecciones de una ciudad y se ha utilizado para describir el abrumador volumen de tr\u00e1fico del centro de Manhattan en general\u201d, advirti\u00f3 el Departamento de Transporte (DOT-NY) en un comunicado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En teor\u00eda se espera que este a\u00f1o, cuando por primera vez est\u00e1 activo el peaje de congesti\u00f3n para circular en Manhattan, el embotellamiento sea menor. \u201cLa ciudad de Nueva York acoge la Asamblea General de la ONU una vez m\u00e1s este a\u00f1o, pero tanto los neoyorquinos como los visitantes deben contribuir a minimizar la congesti\u00f3n y buscar medios de transporte alternativos\u201d, declar\u00f3 el comisionado del DOT, Ydanis Rodr\u00edguez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
