Por Narciso Isa Conde<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n (En espa\u00f1ol e ingl\u00e9s)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n https:\/\/fb-s-c-a.akamaihd.net\/h-ak-fbx\/v\/t1.0-0\/p526x296\/18664152_1542109035807903_8644241093901742791_n.jpg?oh=7707434b2e39f3cd45e56220feee06c1&oe=5A328904&__gda__=1513000362_fc8336effca54e108b26df111097e1ee<\/p>\n<\/p>\n No escarmientan ni siquiera bajo la amenaza de Marcha Verde: las mineras siguen siendo corruptoras impenitentes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Est\u00e1 en marcha una intensa y mentirosa campa\u00f1a medi\u00e1tica de la Gold-Quest para que se autorice explotar la mina de oro de San Juan de la Maguana, en la que est\u00e1n involucrados el Director de Miner\u00eda, t\u00e9cnicos y funcionarios del ministerio y entidades empresariales; sin que conste una aprobaci\u00f3n formal de los ministros de energ\u00eda y minas y medio ambiente, a quienes se les ha escuchado decir que acatar\u00edan el dictamen solicitado a la Academia de Ciencias.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Parece que algo feo se cuece en el Palacio Nacional -y si se trata del permiso de explotaci\u00f3n de esa mina- esto habr\u00e1 de desatar en el Sur del pa\u00eds un movimiento superior al de Loma Miranda, puesto que estar\u00edamos frente a la determinaci\u00f3n de convertir esa regi\u00f3n agr\u00edcola en regi\u00f3n minera, con terribles consecuencias sobre las fuentes de agua, la producci\u00f3n de alimentos y el empleo agr\u00edcola en toda el \u00e1rea de influencia del Yaque del Sur (de SJM a Azua y de SJM a Barahona).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Un componente relevante de esta trama se apoya en el argumento de que Gold-Quest emplear\u00eda una tecnolog\u00eda (explotaci\u00f3n por t\u00faneles) que supuestamente no ocasionar\u00e1 los graves da\u00f1os denunciados por quienes, apoyados\/as en valoraciones cient\u00edficas, afirmamos que en los niveles altos y medios de la Cordillera Central la contradicci\u00f3n entre preservar las fuentes de agua y obtener oro es irreconciliable.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Igual comienzan a vender el tremendo embuste de que solo usar\u00eda el agua del cielo.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Si bien los da\u00f1os iniciales de esa modalidad de explotaci\u00f3n ser\u00edan menores que \u00aba cielo abierto\u00bb, en vista de que el \u00aboro nativo\u00bb existente extra\u00edble de las profundidades es insuficiente para recuperar inversi\u00f3n y generar ganancias, ese proyecto contempla en segunda fase explotar a cielo abierto los \u00f3xidos y sulfuros situados m\u00e1s arriba.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Gold-Quest y sus defensores ocultan maliciosamente tanto esa realidad como el conjunto de impactos que a lo largo de la extracci\u00f3n de oro provocar\u00edan graves da\u00f1os a fuentes y corrent\u00edas de agua: fraccionamiento del curso de los r\u00edos, enorme demanda de agua (en detrimento de agropecuaria, alimentaci\u00f3n, empleo y vida humana), contaminaci\u00f3n de aguas subterr\u00e1neas y superficiales, peligrosos impactos y riesgos de las \u00abpresas de cola\u00bb y est\u00edmulos a otras tantas concesiones mineras destructivas solicitadas en esa misma zona.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n El alto a GOLD QUEST, anti-verde por ecocida y corruptora, debe ser masivo y rotundo.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n ENGLISH:<\/p>\n STOP GOLD-QUEST<\/p>\n By Narciso Isa Conde<\/p>\n They do not think twice even under the threat of the Green March: the mining are still corrupting without punishment.<\/p>\n An intense and lying Gold-Quest media campaign is underway to authorize the exploitation of the San Juan de la Maguana gold mine, involving the Mining Director, technicians and ministry officials and business entities; without a formal approval from the ministers for energy and mines and the ministers for environment, who have been heard to say that they will abide by the request to the Academy of Sciences.<\/p>\n It seems that something ugly is being cooked in the National Palace – and if it is the exploitation permit of that mine – this will have to unleash in the South of the country a movement superior to the one of Loma Miranda, since we would be in front of the determination to convert that agricultural region into a mining region, with terrible consequences on water sources, food production and agricultural employment throughout the area of ??influence of the Southern Yaque river (from SJM to Azua and from SJM to Barahona).<\/p>\n A relevant component of this plot is based on the argument that Gold-Quest would use a technology (tunneling) that supposedly will not cause the serious damages denounced by those who, supported by scientific assessments.
